The Laws in Singapore that make it the Most Dangerous Country to visit
At least according to (some) Chinese (i.e. PRC) citizens:
At 00:20, Singapore is called the most nitpicky country in the world.
At 00:28, the well-known chewing gum ban. Then there is the "stick no bills" law and the caning penalty. And then there is a host of other restrictions.
But the video failed to mentioned that public urination could get you charged with being a public nuisance and fined up to $2000, as this Chinese National found out!
I usually comment on and correct videos that promote false narratives about Singapore, but I passed on this video.
If there are Chinese social media video content creators who are warning uncivilised Chinese citizens who are liable to act like public nuisances, and are wont to behave with scant regard for civilised behaviour, then I'm all for letting those exaggerated narratives spread. If these narratives scare them into not coming to Singapore, all the better.
If these narratives put them on their best civilised behaviour if they do decide to visit Singapore, also a win.
Some videos of visitors to Singapore (from Western countries) have reflected their concerns about the tough laws and so their adherence to the laws to avoid falling afoul of the law.
I guess those visitors are more... civilised. Or more respectful of laws.
[Here are some other examples of visitors who have ran afoul of our laws. Decide for yourself if laws and Justice here are petty and "nitpicky":
Woman who abused hospital staff.
Man who caused mischief at Airport.
Tourist tries to Bribe Officer.
